The Ruby brand stands for urbanity and addresses target groups who are looking for real experiences, inspiration and individuality when traveling and staying at a hotel.
The design concept of the Ruby Sofie Hotel Vienna was strongly guided by the aim of incorporating the unique history of the building.
In the boutique hotel with 77 rooms, the history of the Sofiensäle therefore lives on in lovingly staged details.
In the bar, photos and other memorabilia recall the numerous personalities who have been guests here: Strauss, Liszt and Léhar, Böhm, Solti, von Karajan and Bernstein, Glass, Brubeck, May, Mann, von Suttner, Trakl and Kraus, Kraftwerk, Falco and many more.
Each room has its own personal “godfather”, to whom individual pieces of decoration, pictures and quotations in the room refer.
Stylistically, very different stylistic elements and eras have been deliberately combined: In the rooms, for example, classic wall panelling made of old wood contrasts with white high-gloss furniture, antique stucco mouldings with an all-glass shower in the room.
The evolved mix of styles from European metropolises also characterizes the other room details; for example in the form of antique drawing chairs or former advertising letters converted into bedside lamps.
Charming individual pieces with patina and their own history characterize the design of all Ruby rooms, each one individual and different.
Open-pored wood in warm tones and high-quality textiles in cream and white create a luxurious basic ambience.
Special attention is paid to the lighting mood, created with 12+ narrow-cone LED spotlights per room.
The entire lighting control system is infinitely dimmable and can be conveniently switched by the guest.
Separately switchable lights at the washbasin and desk also ensure optimum functional lighting.
The rest of the room furnishings are only slightly inferior to luxury hotels: High-quality bed linen and bathroom textiles, extra-long beds with 30 cm high 7-zone pocket spring mattresses and 40″ HD televisions are standard in every room.
In addition, emphasis was placed on generous equipment with sockets and USB ports for smartphones and other electronic devices.
Thanks to intelligent floor plans and modular room architecture, the Ruby Sofie Hotel Vienna nevertheless has a space efficiency that is superior even to many budget hotels; this amounts to a total of 30 sqm gross floor area per room, including all ancillary areas and public areas.
The entire hotel has a high level of energy and water efficiency; for example
For example, the lighting is completely LED.
In terms of sustainability, equipment and materials with a low CO2 footprint were preferred.
